SriLankan Airlines extends suspension of Riyadh, Dammam flights until Oct. 24

SriLankan Airlines has prolonged the temporary halt to its services from Colombo to the Saudi cities of Riyadh and Dammam, with the suspension running through October 24, 2026. The reports do not say when the original suspension began.

The carrier cited security conditions in the region. In a statement reported by Newswire, it said passenger and crew safety and security were considered in making the decision.

SriLankan Airlines said it will restart services to both destinations once it determines that conditions are suitable for commercial flying. No review date or further detail about the security situation was reported.

Newswire said passengers can call 1979 from within Sri Lanka or +94 11 777 1979 from abroad. It also listed WhatsApp at +94 74 444 1979 for chat, travel agents and the airline’s website as information channels; the carrier thanked affected passengers for their understanding and cooperation.
